Media Frenzy To Where?

Has the political/economic media lost the plot in the UK - I'll qualify this in bullet points to aid my 'read in five' ambition:

1. Would the 'credit crunch' have been far less damaging had instant news and doom-mongering not been provided by the 'media institutions'? Some of the reporting was poor in accuracy and timing to say the least. Economic positives now don't make the front page.....Libor, House Prices, QE

2. The 'expenses' scandal was focused on data provided by the Telegraph - all other titles hardly ever challenged the Telegraph line or went further in terms investigative reporting. Reminiscent of the behaviourial traits in the 'Credit Crunch' the main media titles have acted like the preverbial 'lemming'.

3. 'Brown Out' - is a media obsession, it's getting embarassing - the media is forcing the agenda like a person possessed. For instance, the 'take' of Mandelson's email has been almost criminal. Mandelson's email offered advice and was as supportive as it was honest. Where is the comparison to progress....six weeks ago Cameron stated we were on our way to the IMF for a bail out, earlier than that Osbourne quoted and supported the Germans when they challenged the UK approach!!

I feel the media is increasingly becoming politicised and part of the story and starting to reflect personal vendetta's in the message and focus. The likes of Nick Robinson (who previously held a political position) are beginning to sound biased. As the title suggests, it's not just him though.
